Our Promise

We are passionate about your experience on our website and the content we provide here. Selecting a hotel can be daunting, and we strive to make that process a little easier by painting a true picture of what we are about. From the pictures of our staff to the blog posts written by them, what you see here is genuinely who we are.

If you are shopping around and see a different offer for The Lenox on another site, let us know and we will make it right. We would be honored to be your home in Boston!

July 4th in Boston

July 4th in Boston

Boston is the cradle of the American Revolution so it’s no surprise that we take our Independence Day celebration pretty seriously!  And, truly, The Lenox is the perfect jumping off point for your 4th of July weekend in the city.

Our big fireworks and music extravaganza, featuring the Boston Pops alongside a couple of big-name musical stars, takes place just a couple blocks away from The Lenox on the Esplanade, a park that runs along the Charles River.  People make a whole evening of it, picnicking along the river and having a good time while waiting for the music and fireworks to begin.  The music begins around 8:00PM and fireworks usually around 10:00PM.

If you want to be part of that whole experience, we have just the thing!  Stop by the concierge desk and we can arrange a pickup of our Picnic in the park basket from our sister property the Beacon Hill Hotel & Bistro.  Chef crafted sandwiches, salads, and treats all packed up in a ready to go bag with a blanket to boot.  Best part is that you get to keep the bag (awesome for the beach) and blanket.  See the details here https://beaconhillhotel.com/picnic/

Looking for the festivities but without the crowd or late night? There are a couple of other great options to celebrate without having to wait until 10pm. The Boston Pops do a dress-rehearsal on the night of July 3rd. This is the same concert they will perform on the 4th but without the fireworks. This is a great way to spend an evening outside and hear the concert but not have to worry about the craziness of the 4th.

Or head to Castle Island in South Boston on the afternoon of the 4th to see the USS Constitution do a sail through Boston Harbor. This recreation area surrounding Fort Independence is right at the entrance of Boston Harbor and is surrounded by water. There are lawns surrounding the fort that are perfect for an afternoon picnic! Castle Island is about a 15 minute taxi ride from the hotel. Be sure to stop at Sullivan’s snack bar on your way home for a soft serve ice cream.

However you celebrate the 4th, nothing will quite round out your Independence Day plans like a trip along the Freedom Trail where you’ll quite literally be walking in the footsteps of our Founding Fathers.
