We are passionate about your experience on our website and the content we provide here. Selecting a hotel can be daunting, and we strive to make that process a little easier by painting a true picture of what we are about. From the pictures of our staff to the blog posts written by them, what you see here is genuinely who we are.

If you are shopping around and see a different offer for The Lenox on another site, let us know and we will make it right. We would be honored to be your home in Boston!

Open Newbury Street

Open Newbury Street

After an abbreviated season last summer, Open Newbury is back with an extended schedule! Newbury Street will be car-free from Berkeley Street all the way to Massachusetts Avenue. This is a fun and pedestrian-friendly way to experience Newbury Street in one of Boston’s most prominent neighborhoods. Local businesses will open their doors and expand out onto the street to showcase their products. Even better is that many of them offer discounts and special services during this time!

Open Newbury will be from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on the following dates for summer 2022:

  • Sunday, August 21
  • Sunday, August 28
  • Sunday, September 4
  • Sunday, September 11
  • Sunday, September 18
  • Sunday, September 25

This is a great time in the city for both visitors and locals to see all that Boston has to offer! We’re offering up a couple recommendations for some of our favorite spots – in both directions – to check out during your stroll.

If you take a RIGHT once you’re on Newbury Street and head towards the Public Gardens, you will pass many great dining options but two of our favorites (patios included!) are Joe’s American Bar and Grill. And if you take a LEFT onto Newbury and walk a few blocks you’ll run into Sonsie on Newbury. These places have a wide selection of delicious menu offerings, so you are sure to please even the pickiest of eaters in your group.

Feel like using the day to get a salon treatment and people watch? Salon Marc Harris is one of our favorite places. Jeremy is one of the best in the business and his chair sits right next to a lovely bay window overlooking Newbury Street.

The DTR Modern Gallery features many beautiful works of our art. Our hotel lobby is actually an extension of the current exhibit here, featuring the works for Hunt Slonem who is known for his bunny paintings. Once you’re ready for some coffee or dessert, The Thinking Cup is a great, hip coffee shop located next door to the popular Georgetown Cupcakes.

If you take a LEFT once you’re on Newbury Street and head towards Fenway Park, there are still plenty of great options. If you’re looking for a quite bite to eat rather than a sit down meal, Dirty Water Dough has some great pizza with traditional and inventive favorites. Our personal favorite is the taco pizza! For healthier options, Gre.Co is a local favorite, with Greek salads and rotisserie meats. Loukoumades (Greek Doughnuts) are a must have here! And of course, what stroll down Newbury Street would be complete without a stop for some refreshing ice cream at Ben & Jerry’s? You really can’t go wrong with any choice here.

Trident Cafe & Booksellers is one of our favorite spots in Boston. They are an independent bookshop with a relaxed, casual vibe. They are currently closed due to a fire, but will hopefully be open by the time Open Newbury comes along!

We hope you can experience at least one of these Open Newbury days this month. If you have any questions about this or are just looking for more information, feel free to stop by the Concierge desk at The Lenox and ask away!
